The Window of Friendship

between Hiroshima Prefecture and Sichuan Province

Hiroshima Prefecture (Japan) and Sichuan Province (P. R. China) forged a new friendship relationship in September, 1984. The two local governments have created a diverse exchange program including pollution reduction, agriculture, and medical technology support. Over 6,000 people have participated in mutual exchange programs. In 1997, the Hiroshima-Sichuan China-Japan Friendship Hall was built in Chengdu City, the capital of Sichuan Province, as a symbol of the friendship exchange. In 2008 financial year, three projects are scheduled: Receiving trainee and dispatching technical co-operation staff for environmental protection, receiving trainee for technological education, and Japanese language education trainees.
